Good bye to Summer

Been having fun in the studio playing around with Mother of Pearl and silk thread!

I used a ton of it in my degree show, so it was fun to get my hands on it again.
It’s really easy to saw into and shape, but you have to be super careful using it as the dust created through the grinding and cutting of shell is a respiratory irritant and dangerous! Make sure you wear a dust respirator and keep the Mother of Pearl wet to protect from inhaling the particles.
