Bake off

I’m totally one hundred percent getting into The Great British Bake Off , I love the format of three challenges intermingled with historic facts such as the cupcake was originally baked in dainty teacups!
The final challenge is a showstopper and this week they tackle the infamously pretty yet notoriously difficult to make macaroon.

My dad and I had a father/daughter moment recently where he attempted to teach me the way as he’s just completed a patisserie course.
Hmmm. These things are tricky, that’s all I can say. There’s mixing, whisking, banging (to get the air out), resting, baking, filling. Phew.

Mine weren’t quite as gloriously beautiful as Laduree.
